This study was conducted to examine the relationship between various intrinsic and extrinsic factors on job satisfaction of public sector bank employees. The main objective of the study was to find out the relationship between job satisfaction and other intrinsic (content factors) and extrinsic (context factors) variables. The t-test result showed that both intrinsic factors (achievement, recognition and appreciation and sense of belongingness) and most of the extrinsic factors are significantly related with job satisfaction. Job satisfaction of public sector bank employees was found to be affected by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The author hopes that the findings may help the public sector banks to redesign their policies so as to meet the needs and aspirations of the employees which in turn, will lead to greater job involvement.
